All of those desperate trench-belted fan cries for b-sides and rarities do not fall on deaf ears, it appears.

The Cure made that apparent Nov. 3 at annual New Orleans, La. festival Voodoo Music & Arts Experience when they gave the first known live performance of “Burn.”

After opening their headlining set with a run of tracks including “Shake Dog Shake,” “Fascination Street,” “From the Edge of the Deep Green Sea,” “The End of the World,” “Lovesong,” and “Just Like Heaven,” frontman Robert Smith introduced the song.

“Here’s another song about New Orleans. One we’ve never played,” said Smith, according to a tweet from Cure fan blog Chain of Flowers author Craig Parker.

The live debut comes almost 20 years after releasing “Burn” originally through the soundtrack to 1994 cult classic The Crow, starring the late Brandon Lee.

Fans have long begged the band to play the song live to no avail, except for provoking bassist Simon Gallup to respond with mock-ignorance at live concerts.

“Did we do that one for a soundtrack? I don’t remember it,” Gallup’s quoted.
